Beachside Math, a private tutoring company based in Huntington Beach, California, was born out of a desire to serve others. After hearing stories from numerous friends about their children struggling in math, it seemed natural to reach out and help. Little did I know, I was about to discover my passion - making a difference in the lives of others. And yes, through math! From the student who mastered fractions (after years of wishing they'd just go away) to the Precalculus student who became inspired to pursue a future in Engineering, I've had the privilege of witnessing countless success stories! My goal is to inspire students to be the best they can be - confident in who they are, academically and beyond.
My name is Laurie Capalbo and I am the founder of Beachside Math. My career began as an Electrical Engineer working in Satellite Communications. After a decade in the aerospace industry, I was promoted to full-time homemaker, wife and mother of three. Engineering was exciting, but it just didn't compare to the joy of raising our family and learning to use my gifts to impact the lives of others!
